Process of Implementation
The project began with detailed setting-out works to ensure accurate positioning within the available side access. Foundations were constructed to support the new structure while protecting adjacent elements of the existing property.
Structural walls were built in sequence to tie into the existing building, followed by roofing and weatherproofing works. Internal construction then progressed with insulation, floor preparation, and wall finishes aligned with the main house.
All works were coordinated to maintain consistency between the new extension and the existing internal spaces.
Overcoming Challenges
A key challenge was working within a narrow side access while maintaining structural alignment with the existing property. This was managed through precise setting-out and controlled sequencing of construction activities.
Project Outcome
The side extension was completed successfully, delivering additional internal space that integrates smoothly with the original property. The client was satisfied with the build quality, clean integration, and practical increase in usable floor area.
